 Austin Partners in Education, in partnership with Austin ISD, is proud to present an evening dedicated to honoring AISD volunteers. The event recognized the PTA of the Year, Partner in Education Coordinator of the Year, APIE Partner of the Year and an APIE Hall of Fame inductee. The program included student performances, guest presenters, prizes and more! Individuals, community groups and local businesses including Outstanding Campus Volunteers and Volunteer Groups, Campus Partners, Mentors, Classroom Coaches and Parent Ambassadors were honored. Children at Risk Press Conference

The Ann Richards School for Young Women Leaders was recently recognized by Children at Risk as one of the best middle schools in Texas!

Children at Risk is a non-profit organization with a mission to improve the quality of life for children across Texas through strategic research, public policy analysis, community education, collaboration, and advocacy. School rankings highlight the successes of outstanding schools, with the aim of sparking important community dialogue on the quality of public education in Texas.

McCallum High School 60th Anniversary Kick Off Concert with Floyd Domino and the Floyd Domino Band

McCallum Alumni kicked off their 60th Anniversary fundraising celebrations with a toe-tapping evening of boogie woogie, Western swing, classic country, jazz, and more with 2-time Grammy Award winner Floyd Domino, and the Floyd Domino Band.

You’ve heard him play with George Strait, Asleep at the Wheel, Merle Haggard, and more. Hear him officially christen McCallum’s newest musical addition – a beautiful, handmade 1952 Baldwin concert grand piano dedicated to the Fine Arts Academy students.

The McCallum orchestra and jazz band students joined Floyd in two finale numbers with original orchestration. An exclusive VIP reception was held after the concert and all proceeds from tickets, VIP reception, and concessions will help fund the piano and other Fine Arts projects.
