If You Are Unable to View AISD-TV Channel 22 on Time Warner Cable

This is a resend of information first released in the fall of 2010. There are still viewers affected, so we wanted to re-release the pertinent information.

September 24, 2010

This is an important announcement for customers of Time Warner Cable.  Effective Friday, October 1, 2010, AISD-TV, Channel 22, will only be viewable on analog, or standard-definition,  television sets that are installed with a digital converter box that you must obtain from Time Warner.  This change by Time Warner affects only older-model analog televisions, and not most digital or computer receivers.

Time Warner's "Basic Service" and "Standard Tier" customers can obtain the required converter box for their standard-definition television set, free-of-charge, for a limited time.  Please call Time Warner at 512.486.6000 for details on this free, limited-time offer to obtain the required converter box.

This change by Time Warner affects AISD-TV, as well all "access" channels on its local system, including the City of Austin, Travis County, and Austin Community College.  Customers of Grande Communications are not affected.

Please note that this decision by Time Warner was made despite the objections of AISD-TV, and other community access channels.  Please call 512.485.6000 to obtain the required converter box, for questions, or to express your concerns.
