Inside AISD airs on AISD TV Ch 22 every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday at 6:30pm and Saturdays at 8:00am as well as being posted to the blog at aisdtv.blogspot.com.

STEMulate Your Mind - Allison Elementary School and its community partners hosted the family event STEMulate Your Mind. The event showcased science, technology and mathematics curriculum in a fun atmosphere with more than 40 interactive booths, robotics presentations and hands on activities.
Profile: Bernardo Martinez – Wooten Elementary’s Parent Support Specialist, Bernardo Martinez, explains the role of a Parent Support Specialist and the many important ways he helps both the school and AISD parents.
Garza Gardens - Recently, several AISD schools were awarded the City’s Bright Green Futures Grant including Garza Independence High School. Learn about Garza Gardens and how the funding will support a variety of hands-on learning projects.
Umlauf Sculpture Dedication - Umlauf Family Partnership donated "The Birds," a bronze-cast sculpture to the Lamar Fine Arts Academy. The dedication included a small reception, art and performances by Lamar's Chamber Orchestra, Scottie Singers and Jazz Factory.
Great News Highlights:
Special Recognitions by Board of Trustees- At a special meeting, the AISD Board of Trustees recognized students, staff and sponsors. Those honored were recognized for excellence in academic performance, athletic and extra curricular competitions and artistic accomplishments.
School Nurse & Health Assistant of the Year - Cassie Moffitt has been selected as AISD School Nurse of the Year and Victoria Valero as AISD School Health Assistant of the Year.
AISD Transportation Recognized - AISD Transportation Department was recognized among the top 100 School Districts Fleets of North America in April 2014 by School Bus Fleet Magazine.
Electronics Recycling - AISD hosted a free, citywide electronics-recycling event at Austin High School. Community members donated electronics for recycling.
Musical Theater Awards - AISD’s Bowie High School and McCallum Fine Arts Academy were winners at the first Greater Austin High School Musical Theatre Awards.
African American Parent Involvement Conference - AISD hosted the 2nd Annual African American Parent Involvement Conference. The educational, fun-filled conference gave parents the opportunity to learn about how parent involvement enhances student education.
Teacher Of The Year – Congratulations to Austin ISD’s 2014 Teachers of the Year for high school, middle school and elementary school…LBJ High School’s Nick Dellas, Kealing Middle School’s Sharon Roy and Gullett Elementary’s James Butler. One of these three will be named Austin Teacher of the Year at Salute on Thursday May 29th.
Literacy Summit - As an initiative of the Literacy Work Group, Austin ISD’s Office of Academics hosted the district’s first Literacy Summit for teachers and administrators.
Steel Drum Festival - Austin parents and students enjoyed an afternoon of island music at the 5th Annual AISD Steel Drum Festival. The festival featured steel drum bands from across the district at both the middle school and high school levels.
