Central Texas College Signing Day Event
COLLEGE SIGNING DAY
When: Friday, May 1, 2015, 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Where: Huston-Tillotson University
In recognition and celebration of high
school seniors for their post-secondary plans, Generation TX has
launched a statewide College Signing Day. Inspired by the NCAA’s
National Signing Day, GenTx College Signing Day reinforces the
imperative that excellence in the classroom should be given as much pomp
and circumstance as excellence in athletics. NCAA’s National Signing
Day is when high school seniors sign a letter of intent to play sports
at a specific college. Traditionally, athletes participate in press
conferences to announce their intentions. Our goal is to mimic this
level of excitement for ALL students going to college. GenTX College
Signing Day addresses the gap between college application and enrollment
rates of students, and simplifies the complicated process for
officially enrolling in college. In response, stakeholders throughout

E3Alliance will be hosting this community-wide event on Friday, May 1st
from 10am-11:30 at Huston-Tillotson University. It will have a fun
pep-rally atmosphere with admissions advisors welcoming them and college
mascots, inspiration speakers, and relay races to celebrate their
commitment to completing a post-secondary credential. Capacity for the
event has been reached! Participating school districts include: Austin
ISD, Bastrop ISD, Del Valle ISD, Elgin ISD, Hays ISD, Pflugerville ISD,
and Round Rock ISD.
